The organ was built at a cost of £1,363 by George Croft of Auckland and played for the first time at the Christmas services in 1928. In 1988 it underwent a full restoration by the South Island Organ Co. to ensure that its status as one of Croft’s finest examples was maintained.

Hear this wonderful instrument playing the start of Mendelssohn’s Wedding March. Unfortunately, the video recording camera did not capture the low frequencies very well and so the deep pedal notes are not very evident.
